This month - French Loanwords in English. There's at least 30,000 of them, so there's plenty of them to exploit... I mean, use. (Heh heh, both 'exploit' and 'use' came from French....)
So, I spent the afternoon drawing pictures to illustrate a few of the words. The dame, the cinema, and the eclair... or rather:
The fashionable dame wore a dress with buttons, a hat with a ribbon, and a beige corset.
The men in the cinema felt a sense of deja vu as they watch the costumed hobbit cry.
And, Let's enjoy an eclair at the cafe.
Dorky? Who the hell cares? It's an English bulletin board.
Yes, the pictures were colored in when I tacked them on. Next week, I'll tackle the words from Ff to Kk! (Sigh.)
