The next chapter of "A Series of Events" went up on Friday. It should not have taken as long as it did, but, stuff got in the way. (Mostly my own insecurities, I think). That said, considering my track record, posting anything at all is worth celebrating.
Today's sketch, of course, has Nothing To Do with the story. I stayed up all night trying to draw something, only for this pose and this image to finally come to me this morning. I'm still having trouble drawing Snape for some reason, but what little you see of Harry came out not that bad, right?
Frankly, I just think Naked!Harry glomping Snape from behind is a cute/funny idea. Nearly based a story on that, before it turned all angsty and serious on me.
Completely unrelated except it totally is, as I was trying to draw anything last night, I caught an episode of Momo Kyun Sword. Just my luck, it was the beach episode?, and... I did not like it. (I have nothing against blushing boobs and butts; it's the interminable parade of boobs and butts and practically naked girls and women of all shapes and sizes and heroines with NO BRAS running and having their boobs bouncing painfully up into their faces with each step packed into 20-ish minutes that I kind of have a problem with.)
That said, <insert hypocritical joke here>.

I worked on A Series of Events this week! Calloo callay!I would have written more this week (and maybe finish the next chapter by now), but I was doing other things, such as:
- watching over 50 episodes of La Mujer del Vendaval (A telenovela I don't immediately hate? Yay!)
- trying to speak Japanese with a bad Mexican accent
- celebrating my birthday with way too much pizza (so much pizza that I was in actual physical pain)
Speaking of my birthday, years ago, I decided to celebrate it with a bit of fanfic/fanart crossdressing. Maybe, back then, I thought the idea of men in dresses was funny as-is. (Though Banana Yoshimoto's Moonlight Shadow and the teen boy wearing his dead girlfriend's school uniform in-story probably played a part...) I don't do it every year, but sometimes I do, which is my excuse for tonight's doodle.
Well... not the only excuse. Hina Matsuri is on Monday, hence the Heian period dress. I also like putting Snape in female clothing. If I do it one more time, I get a free cauldron cake!
... I wonder what they're saying...

Wanted: Bath Chair

I posted the next chapter of A Series of Events this morning. It both took too long and no time at all to write. Too long because the previous chapter was posted 10 months ago, no time at all because... once I got past the first scene, everything else spilled out.Like breaking a seal.
One of the scenes is of Snape in a bath chair, being pushed along by Poppy Pomfrey. That, obviously, is not what I ended up doodling. I really did think about drawing Pomfrey, but my Snarry-lovin' heart could NOT pass up the opportunity for some mild hurt/comfort comedy.
Snape hates it, but he's blushing, so maybe it's okay...
Snape and the Cloud

I didn't mean to spend my Saturday working on this comic, but I don't think I want to deal with my writing right now.I finished the raincloud comics that I've been working on lately. I finished inking the first page and drew a rough version of the second page last night. I spent this afternoon inking the second page, and the evening tweaking it in Photoshop.

Ink and Correction Tape

This year's Snarry-a-Thon is over, but I still haven't read all the entries yet. I'm only about mid-way through week two. I can still comment on the stories if I want to, right? (What a silly question.) Another silly question: To respond to comments on my own story, or not to be... responding to comments. (I'll probably start that after having a few drinks. I'm shy and tend to over-think things, so the alcohol should loosen me enough to keep it light, happy, and only a tiny bit grope-y.)
Golden Week ended, so it's back to work for me. I did manage to work on the comics, however. I even inked the first page... only to remember that I still haven't drawn out the second. (Oops.)
I've also worked on the next chapter of "A Series of Events". Maybe this will be the year that I finally finish that story. (I'm not holding my breath, though.)
I want to finish both by Sunday. We'll see if I can manage it.
(I am really riding the creative energy wave these past few weeks. I hope it lasts until at least June.)
Matryoshka Snape and Harry

Here is the results of the hours upon hours of work I've put into these dolls this week: Snape and Harry as Russian Nesting Dolls.The basic body came from a pattern from a calendar. Everything else I had to draw out by hand (or trace, in the case of Severus' flowers). The hard part for me was being decisive enough to put it all together. The tricky, meticulous bits (particularly Snape's face) were not nearly as hard as I feared. In fact, it was almost relaxing, making them.
All in all, I'm glad they're finished. Just don't think I'll be making more of them any time soon.

Fill in the Blank

I think I meant to write and clean today. Instead, after crawling out of bed, the only thing I wanted to do was draw.So I worked on a pair of comics. (Feel free to play "Fill in the Blank" with the two panels. I would offer a prize, but...)
I also took photos of the matroshka dolls.
I went to an isolated part of my local park to take them ('isolated' being a relative term). It was a tiny, secluded hill at the far end of the park, with uncared-for flowers and no benches. As I was taking a few last pictures, a little girl and her parents walked through my makeshift photo studio. They said nothing to me, and I said nothing to them. Although, I wonder what they made of the foreign lady taking pictures of stuffed dolls in public.
I wonder if they thought the dolls were cute.
Snarry-a-thon, Sweet Afton, and next week

I'm a bit behind on reading everything already posted, but Golden Week is coming up. Maybe, in between chores, writing, drawing, sewing, studying, and exercising, I'll find some time to enjoy everyone else's work.
Because I submitted something, I've been feeling particularly anxious over others' reactions to it. As a result, I've been Googling my older stories and found this:

I... well. "Sweet Afton" (DW, FF.net) won an award. That's pretty awesome. Thanks to whoever nominated the story and everyone who voted for it.
I guess the really depressing thing is that I didn't even know about this at all. I found out on Wednesday. Also, they miswrote my name. It's understandable (I guess), but that makes me a bit sad.
(People always miswrite my real name. Now my pen name is getting the same treatment...? *shakes head*)
This week: Working on the next chapter of "A Series of Events". I can't seem to bridge the events of the story with the canon events coming up, particularly the Bathroom Scene and the Detention afterwards. I might just gloss over it.
Also, been bitten by the crafts bug lately. I drew up drafts for a trio of comics and a pair of felt Russian nesting dolls. I'll be making the dolls in particular this weekend.
Nothing but Snape/Harry this week, I think. Even the nesting dolls. This Golden Week might just rival the Golden Week I went to Comic City and saw a Black Butler Musical in geekery....

I don't know why this scan came out so blurry....This was a pencil drawing from way back, Feb. 2006 to be exact. It was in my pile of old notebooks and things, and I had this urge to ink it, color it, and be done with it.
Heero looks awful, I think. And their heads are too large and their bodies are too thin.
I would like to think my artwork has gotten better.
Also: I posted my first deviation in a long time yesterday, a Harry Potter/Star Wars fusion thingie or another. You can find it ----->here<-----. I have mixed feelings about how it came out, but it also features Harry Potter in a Slave Leia outfit, so it's aaaaaaahhhhlllllll gooooooood.

And by real, he means not just physical, but sexual and OPEN to boot. (At least, I think that's what it was.)

Last year, I wrote a story for the Back-To-Hogwarts Fest over at snape-potter called "Where He Belongs" (which you can read over at Dreamwidth or at my FF.net page.) Where it came from was radically different from where it ended up, and it wasn't the first story that came from that idea.

Here are two openings. The first is smuttier, but it's unclear as to whether Harry is a student or an assistant. The second makes it obvious Harry is a student.

The rest were done mostly with CGIllust, with a bit of Photoshop here and there. Mostly a little.... that's a bit of an oxymoron there...

... I thought that Snape banging his head on the table was a neat idea, but I didn't know where to take it after that. And the kiss I had originally planned for this part would have come too early for the story. So, instead, I changed the OC's name and decided to go in this direction:
( Voyeur!Harry.... GO! (1220 words) )
... Then I realized that Dumbles not telling Snape would be weird? So after a bit of editing, and a lot less stripping on Snape's part, I got the final version.
Gee, wasn't that fun?
