Work has started up, and as a result, I've started to consume more than create. Exhaustion plays a part, no doubt, but only a part. It might be that the great surge of productivity I was riding is at its end. It also might be that I am falling back on bad habits. Once I get home and sit down, it takes an hour or more for me to get around to doing anything, a problem when I don't get home until pretty late.

That's just an excuse, though. I bet I can get more done if I actually tried, or wanted to... or tried.

That said, here's some gibberish about the media I've been consuming:

I only found out about Welcome to Night Vale a couple of weeks ago. (It was on an internet stroll: a search for the Snape Wives/Fandom_wank story --> greatest Fandom_wank stories --> 2013 fandom stories --> Night Vale. [That stroll also lead to Cassandra Clare. I totally didn't even know she wrote that book I had no intention of reading anyway!]) So far, I've listened to the first 10 episodes, and already I'm saving my money to buy some of their merch. I'm even starting to like the weather reports. The pilot's weather was... something, but episode 2's The Bus is Late was nice. Rachel Kann's This I Know is probably my favorite so far...

Nakamura Asumiko is not my favorite boys' love mangaka, but I do like how different her work looks. Be-Boy Gold is serializing one of her stories, Kaori no Keishou, and I... can't not read it. It's about a man and his step-brother... and their very sexual relationship... and I feel so guilty for liking it so much. Chapter 3, however, was the most damning; it took the step-brother incest and threw some good old father-son incest in because why not? It's not like this family isn't fucked-up enough as it is. *facepalm* The last story I really liked in Be-Boy Gold, Ike Reibun's time-traveling story ≠ (Not Equal), was also about incest. WHAT IS IT WITH BE-BOY GOLD AND INTERESTING INCEST STORIES!?!?! I'm hoping they'll print an interesting story that didn't involve... that... next issue.

I still don't know if I like Kill la Kill. I like the art style. I like the goofiness. I really like the characters, especially the Dragon, Harime Nui. I don't like the Stripperific costumes. I just don't think transformation sequences should involve vagina wedgies. However, I read something that argues Kill la Kill is making a statement about female empowerment and the male gaze, and I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. (Especially since I like so much about it...)

Finishing up everything for Comic City next week. (Only 10 days away and there's still so much to do. ...How likely is it that I sell anything?) Thinking of making a costume for the occasion, or at the very least shaking the dust off one of my wigs.

It's a shame that I lose several hours a day staring into space, thinking about nothing... trying to forget that I exist suck have things to do.

I keep thinking about joining in on A Month of Letters. If I do, my mother and sister are going to be getting a lot of letters from me in February. (It'll be just like the New Year cards every year. I make them, but I only have one or two people to mail them to. It's rather sad, isn't it.) They won't be the only recipients, but I think they'll be the only ones not annoyed by my letters. (At least, I hope they won't be annoyed...)
